This isn't your typical gathering, we are stepping away from our desks and heading into the woods to foster deep connection, honest conversation, and professional renewal. Set against the natural beauty of Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center, this summit brings together Wisconsin’s Head Start and Early Head Start leaders to navigate policy shifts with state agencies and build a powerful peer network.
What to Expect
- Direct Access: Engage in meaningful dialogue with leaders from the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families and other state agencies.
- Peer Problem-Solving: Participate in "Base Camp" sessions designed for collaborative workshopping and sharing what’s actually working in your programs.
- Nature-Based Networking: Choose your own pace by sticking around home base, or adventure with colleagues during a guided hike to Blackhawk Island and a morning paddle on the water.
- Strategic Growth: Loosely Facilitated sessions focused on the unique challenges of executive leadership in the Head Start space.
Summit Essentials: Know Before You GoTo make sure you have an incredible experience at Base Camp, keep these quick logistical reminders in mind:
- Check Your Inbox: Your room block information and discounted rates for The Kalahari and Avid Hotel were included in your registration confirmation email. Please ensure your lodging is finalized before arrival.
- Gear Up for the Outdoors: We will be taking full advantage of the beautiful setting! Be sure to pack comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Reminder: Closed-toe shoes are required for the Blackhawk Island hike, and water-friendly clothes are highly recommended for the morning paddle.
- What's Included: Your registration fully covers your Tuesday Welcome Breakfast and Networking Lunch, Wednesday's Light Breakfast and Lunch, as well as all workshops, and full equipment for all guided outdoor adventures.
